What makes a clean karaoke track, and what doesn't
Whether this is the best karaoke maker online for you depends mostly on the song. Nothing is cancelled here, so a mono file and an off-centre vocal are both fine. What still matters is the recording itself.
What works well: a modern studio recording with the lead voice clearly on top. Pop, rock, hip-hop, country and dance from the last few decades come back with a full-sounding backing and the singer genuinely gone.
What fights back:
- Harmonies and layered vocals. Anything sung counts as a vocal, so stacked harmonies leave with the lead. On a song built around group vocals the result can end up sparser than you expected.
- Heavy reverb. The tail of the voice is part of the voice; a little of it can hang on in the backing, and on a very wet mix you may hear a ghost of the melody.
- Live versions. Crowd noise and stage bleed sit in the same space as the singer, so more of the vocal survives. Use the studio version when there is one.
- Very loud, dense masters. A heavily limited mix leaves less room between the parts, and less room means more bleed.
- Vocal samples in the beat. A chopped vocal hook used as an instrument may be read as a vocal and disappear, or be read as an instrument and stay. It is a coin toss, and it is worth listening for.
- Old or low-bitrate recordings. A worn-out MP3 gives the model less to work with than a clean original.
Nothing here removes an entire choir cleanly, and no tool on the market does. If the karaoke track sounds thin, drop the vocal stem back in very quietly to fill the gap. A duet comes back as one lead-vocal track, not one per singer.

No: the AI lifts out one full lead-vocal track, not separate singers. For a mixed duet the simplest fix is bringing the vocal stem back in quietly under the instrumental as a guide, or cutting the song where each singer takes over and processing those sections separately.
Can I shift a song into a different key for my voice?

Backing-track sites sell pre-made, hand-remixed versions from a fixed catalogue; this separates whatever you upload, so it also works on songs that were never released as a backing track. CapCut needs the app installed and a project opened; this page only needs the song file.
Can you turn Spotify into karaoke?
Not directly. Spotify songs play inside the Spotify app and can't be saved as an audio file, so there is nothing to upload here. If you have the song as an audio file of your own, drop it in.
