How LALAL.AI's minutes work

LALAL.AI sells separation by the minute. Lite is $9.99/month for 90 "Fast Queue" minutes ($90 billed yearly); Pro is $19.99/month for 250 minutes ($180 yearly). Prefer to pay once instead of monthly? A one-time pack is $50 for 750 minutes or $190 for 3000 minutes. Either way, whatever you don't use is gone: unused minutes expire at the end of each billing period, so a quiet month is money spent on nothing.

How StemGrab is different

There's no meter running here. Open the tool, drop in a song, and it separates — the next one works exactly the same, whether it's your first upload today or your fiftieth this week. No plan to pick, no balance to watch, nothing that runs out at the end of the month.

Good to know

Both tools do real AI separation rather than the old phase-cancel trick, so this isn't a quality downgrade to save money — see how AI stem separation works if you want the mechanics. Want just the voice out? Vocal remover and karaoke maker cover that from the same upload. Publishing something you make from someone else's track still needs permission — see stems & the law.

Common questions

Is StemGrab really free, with no minutes to run out?

Yes — there's no minutes pool at all. Upload as many songs as you like, one at a time; ads around the tool cover the GPU, not a subscription.

What does the €5 pass change?

It raises the per-track limit from 20 to 60 minutes and keeps your files for 24 hours instead of 45 minutes. It's a one-time, 30-day pass, not a recurring subscription, and it changes nothing about the separation itself — free and paid tracks come out the same quality.

What do I get from one upload?

Seven per song: vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano, other, and a mixed instrumental (everything except the vocals), all as 192 kbps MP3 plus a zip of the lot.

Is my song stored anywhere?

No. Your upload is deleted the moment it's processed and the stems are wiped from the server within 45 minutes. Nothing is stored, shared or used to train anything — see privacy.

Can I use the stems publicly?

The tool is free to use, but the rights to the recording stay with whoever owns them. Practising privately is always fine; for anything you publish — a remix, cover or mashup — get permission first. See stems & the law.
